The Athletic Department today announced that current interim head coach Dallas Ferguson, and University of Wisconsin Assistant Kevin Patrick are the two finalists for hockey head coach, to replace Doc DelCastillo.
Here’s an article in the Wisconsin State Journal about Patrick’s applying for the job.
UPDATE 5/6 6:23 p.m.: Here’s the News-Miner article on the finalists. The comments kindof surprise me, it seemed like most of the community was all for Dallas Ferguson, but they’re split pretty tight between the alumni with community ties, and the “new face.”
UPDATE 5/8 12:59 p.m.: The Western College Hockey Blog also posted a link to the News-Miner article, with some discussion.
Ferguson has been an assistant for the past four years and was a Nanook defenseman from 1992-1996. Patrick was a finalist for the position last year.
There will be public forum sessions later this week.
Ferguson’s forum will be from 5:30-6:30 p.m. May 7 (Wednesday) and Patrick’s from 5:30-6:30 p.m. May 8 (Thursday).

Patrick’s is here.
